Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Utilities and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 20.19% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.062 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 14.29% or 0.002 points to end at 0.016 and Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) was up 9.09% or 0.001 points to 0.012 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which fell 48.44% or 0.15 points to trade at 0.17 at the close. Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) declined 4.53% or 0.87 points to end at 18.33 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was down 4.47% or 0.11 points to 2.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 55 to 46 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.71% or 7.60 to $1074.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.51% or 1.05 to hit $42.80 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.51% or 1.12 to trade at $45.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.00% to 1.0636, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.7060.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 99.75.
