Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction & Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.50% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 3.27% or 0.84 points to trade at 26.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) added 1.42% or 0.10 points to end at 7.27 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was up 1.37% or 1.05 points to 77.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which fell 1.19% or 1.40 points to trade at 116.35 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 0.04% or 0.02 points to end at 51.89 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 0.09% or 0.040 points to 43.410.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 100 to 55 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.27% or 13.60 to $1082.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.03% or 0.43 to hit $41.52 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.10 to trade at $44.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.80% to 1.0745, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.7016.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.73% at 98.94.
