Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jui Li (TW:1512), which rose 10.00% or 0.43 points to trade at 4.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Spirox (TW:3055) added 9.97% or 1.45 points to end at 16.00 and Unity Opto (TW:2499) was up 9.84% or 1.90 points to 21.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Realtek (TW:2379), which fell 8.10% or 5.90 points to trade at 66.90 at the close. Twinhead Intl (TW:2364) declined 7.30% or 0.34 points to end at 4.32 and Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) was down 5.70% or 0.29 points to 4.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 522 to 314 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.01 to $43.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $46.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.46% or 5.40 to trade at $1171.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.64% to 32.462, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.1955.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 97.01.
