Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Metal Products & Machinery, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Textile & Leather sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.59% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO), which rose 11.74% or 0.25 points to trade at 2.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) added 7.41% or 0.040 points to end at 0.580 and Brisa (IS:BRISA) was up 5.38% or 0.44 points to 8.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which fell 4.63% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.030 at the close. Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM) declined 1.97% or 0.13 points to end at 6.46 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) was down 1.69% or 0.010 points to 0.580.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 282 to 115 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.97% or 11.50 to $1171.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.35% or 1.12 to hit $46.60 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.80% or 1.42 to trade at $49.05 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.33% to 2.9037, while EUR/TRY rose 0.12% to 3.2885.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 94.98.
