Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Food and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 4.17% or 6.00 points to trade at 150.00 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 1.86% or 0.91 points to end at 49.71 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.01% or 0.05 points to 4.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which lost 5.28% or 0.22 points to trade at 3.95 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 3.92% or 0.42 points to end at 10.30 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) shed 3.25% or 1.69 points to 50.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 256 to 239 and 180 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 2.14% or 0.70 to $33.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 2.48% or 0.88 to hit $36.32 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.03% or 12.60 to trade at $1233.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.69% to 4.3462, while USD/PLN fell 0.06% to 4.0002.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 98.35.
