Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 3.57% or 0.225 points to trade at 6.530 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.91% or 0.3400 points to end at 12.0300 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was up 2.74% or 0.65 points to 24.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 2.19% or 0.0058 points to trade at 0.2590 in late trade. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) declined 1.52% or 0.31 points to end at 20.12 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) shed 0.93% or 0.0550 points to 5.8450.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 238 to 138 and 32 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.38% or 0.97 to $41.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.20% or 0.95 to hit $44.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.65 to trade at $1369.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1134, while EUR/GBP rose 1.36% to 0.8482.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.67.
