Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 1.17%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which rose 5.11% or 29.0 points to trade at 597.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Surgut (MCX:SNGS) added 4.60% or 1.420 points to end at 32.300 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 4.19% or 0.678 points to 16.878 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR), which fell 1.97% or 0.0570 points to trade at 2.8310 at the close. Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) declined 1.19% or 29.4 points to end at 2435.6 and Gruppa Cherkizovo ao (MCX:GCHE) was down 1.05% or 8.0 points to 752.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 113 to 78 and 13 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.95% to 37.560.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.18% or 2.10 to $1155.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $52.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.23 to trade at $58.77 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.24% to 56.407, while EUR/RUB fell 0.91% to 62.221.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.91% at 96.83.
