Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.71% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 9.62% or 0.0015 points to trade at 0.0171 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 2.17% or 0.1280 points to end at 6.0280 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.88% or 0.3000 points to 16.2600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 1.73% or 0.0320 points to trade at 1.8230 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 0.15% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.6800 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) shed 0.09% or 0.0010 points to 1.1280.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.19% or 0.10 to $51.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $50.01 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.54% or 6.80 to trade at $1263.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.0990, while EUR/GBP fell 1.01% to 0.8934.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 97.81.
