Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Banking & Financials and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 1.74%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 10.83% or 0.640 points to trade at 6.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Philex Mining (PS:PX) added 6.00% or 0.300 points to end at 5.300 and Metropolitan B (PS:MBT) was up 4.00% or 3.25 points to 84.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP), which fell 1.27% or 17.000 points to trade at 1320.000 at the close. Aboitiz Power (PS:AP) declined 1.08% or 0.45 points to end at 41.35 and Dmci Holdings (PS:DMC) was down 0.47% or 0.060 points to 12.760.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 122 to 74 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.40% or 4.70 to $1184.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.02% or 0.47 to hit $46.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.21 to trade at $49.48 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.19% to 7.2171, while USD/PHP fell 0.22% to 45.800.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 94.06.
