Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which rose 9.65% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 8.52% or 0.023 points to end at 0.293 and Hell.Petrol (AT:HEPr) was up 5.88% or 0.25 points to 4.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which fell 6.07% or 0.32 points to trade at 4.88 at the close. Athens Water (AT:EYDr) declined 3.57% or 0.20 points to end at 5.40 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was down 3.05% or 0.009 points to 0.286.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 46 to 44 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1065.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.55% or 0.23 to hit $41.42 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.35 to trade at $44.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0611, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.7046.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 99.97.
