Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which rose 1.92% or 0.25 points to trade at 13.30 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 1.67% or 3.67 points to end at 223.07 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was up 0.68% or 0.019 points to 2.812 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon (AS:AEGN), which lost 5.89% or 0.228 points to trade at 3.645 in late trade. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 5.10% or 1.68 points to end at 31.25 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 3.30% or 0.55 points to 15.96.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 117 to 51 and 16 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.44% to 18.52.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.32% or 0.16 to $50.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.21% or 0.11 to hit $51.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.55 to trade at $1258.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1040, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.9031.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 97.64.
