Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments, Textile & Leather and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.73% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which rose 4.73% or 1.95 points to trade at 43.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) added 3.86% or 0.150 points to end at 4.040 and Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) was up 3.07% or 0.090 points to 3.020 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 18.97% or 4.40 points to trade at 18.80 at the close. Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) declined 6.74% or 5.00 points to end at 69.15 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was down 5.56% or 0.150 points to 2.550.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 329 to 74 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.02% or 11.10 to $1097.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.04% or 0.50 to hit $47.64 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 0.81 to trade at $53.80 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.21% to 2.7708, while EUR/TRY rose 2.38% to 3.0789.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.86% at 96.51.
