Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 2.17% or 5.00 points to trade at 235.00 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.04% or 1.42 points to end at 70.92 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was up 0.91% or 0.48 points to 53.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which lost 4.72% or 3.68 points to trade at 74.33 in late trade. mBank (WA:MBK) declined 3.92% or 15.90 points to end at 390.00 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) shed 3.28% or 2.39 points to 70.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 347 to 236 and 158 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.41% or 1.21 to $49.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.28% or 1.21 to hit $51.90 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 6.05 to trade at $1203.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.35% to 4.3247, while USD/PLN fell 0.04% to 4.0869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 101.93.
