Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, S&P Lima Juniors and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which rose 1.19% or 0.42 points to trade at 35.62 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) added 0.83% or 0.020 points to end at 2.420 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) was up 0.52% or 0.040 points to 7.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sider (LM:SID), which lost 5.00% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.380 in late trade. PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) unchanged 4.00% or 0.00 points to end at 0.05 and Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) shed 2.60% or 0.200 points to 7.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 3 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.85% or 0.42 to $49.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $52.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.96% or 12.32 to trade at $1276.78 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2430, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.5149.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 98.91.
