Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 5.51% or 0.79 points to trade at 15.12 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 4.21% or 0.59 points to end at 14.02 and Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) was up 0.70% or 0.10 points to 14.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which lost 2.33% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.850 in late trade. Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) declined 2.23% or 0.16 points to end at 7.00 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) shed 0.64% or 0.020 points to 3.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 19 and 65 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.75% or 0.88 to $51.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.98% or 1.05 to hit $54.17 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 4.15 to trade at $1258.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.04% to 334.960, while USD/NGN fell 3.16% to 306.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 100.51.
