Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM:CEL), which rose 5.11% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.470 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) added 4.82% or 0.170 points to end at 3.700 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 3.68% or 0.260 points to 7.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 6.67% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.112 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 6.12% or 0.060 points to end at 0.920 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 4.40% or 0.040 points to 0.870.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 9 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.59% or 0.78 to $48.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $50.83 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.85% or 10.50 to trade at $1244.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2505, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.5101.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 99.55.
