Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.05% or 1.530 points to trade at 76.040 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 1.83% or 4.25 points to end at 236.15 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) was up 1.03% or 0.52 points to 51.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 3.44% or 0.670 points to trade at 18.825 in late trade. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 1.84% or 0.083 points to end at 4.435 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) shed 1.77% or 0.430 points to 23.875.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 58 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.45% to 10.76 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.99% or 0.48 to $47.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.87% or 0.44 to hit $50.19 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.73% or 9.20 to trade at $1276.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1268, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8749.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 96.72.
