Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 0.96% or 0.036 points to trade at 3.786 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) fell 0.08% or 0.02 points to end at 25.58 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was down 0.11% or 0.0040 points to 3.7260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI), which lost 79.82% or 56.63 points to trade at 14.32 in late trade. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) declined 4.74% or 0.1740 points to end at 3.5000 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) shed 4.34% or 0.7200 points to 15.8700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 254 to 99 and 10 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.68% or 0.34 to $50.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.51% or 0.27 to hit $52.78 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.72 to trade at $1266.38 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1181, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8705.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.28.
