Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 1.88% or 0.27 points to trade at 14.34 at the close. Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 1.41% or 0.059 points to end at 4.235 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was up 0.86% or 0.090 points to 10.585 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which lost 1.06% or 0.57 points to trade at 53.32 in late trade. Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) declined 0.82% or 0.16 points to end at 19.45 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.70% or 0.12 points to 17.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 86 to 78 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.78% to 32.23.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.30% or 0.65 to $49.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.32% or 0.67 to hit $49.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.55 to trade at $1270.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.68% to 1.1317, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7693.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 93.68.
