Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Cement and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Genesis Photon (TW:3383), which rose 10.00% or 0.45 points to trade at 4.95 at the close. Evergreen Mari (TW:2603) added 10.00% or 1.20 points to end at 13.20 and Daxin (TW:5234) was up 9.91% or 3.20 points to 35.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Epileds Tech (TW:4956), which lost 9.84% or 2.50 points to trade at 22.90 in late trade. Cci (TW:6230) declined 5.95% or 11.00 points to end at 174.00 and Ennoconn (TW:6414) shed 5.59% or 29.50 points to 498.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 487 to 260 and 103 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.49% or 0.22 to $44.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.36% or 0.17 to hit $47.06 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1310.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.01% to 31.726, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2108.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 96.06.
