Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Telecoms and Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Finance & Investment and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.17%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 4.25% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.417 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 2.90% or 0.011 points to end at 0.390 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was up 1.80% or 0.009 points to 0.510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 2.48% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.905 in late trade. Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) declined 2.35% or 0.023 points to end at 0.954 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) shed 2.22% or 0.017 points to 0.750.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 3.92% to 0.530, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was up 3.64% to settle at 0.570 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 2.68% to close at 1.53.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 8.97% to 1.320 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 8.92% to settle at 2.450 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 5.00% to 0.380 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 11 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.22% or 0.10 to $45.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $47.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.46% or 5.98 to trade at $1287.22 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.25% to 4.1262.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 96.86.
