Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 11.01% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.121 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 3.39% or 0.290 points to end at 8.850 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) was up 3.38% or 0.315 points to 9.625 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 5.86% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.2090 in late trade. ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) declined 2.55% or 0.110 points to end at 4.200 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) shed 2.44% or 0.005 points to 0.200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 46 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.51% or 6.41 to $1260.01 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.07% or 0.54 to hit $51.21 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.47 to trade at $54.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1234, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8637.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 96.87.
