Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Travel and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr), which rose 2.67% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.920 at the close. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) added 2.59% or 0.130 points to end at 5.160 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 2.44% or 0.015 points to 0.630 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hell.Exchanges (AT:EXCr), which lost 2.75% or 0.13 points to trade at 4.60 in late trade. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 2.59% or 0.030 points to end at 1.130 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) shed 2.33% or 0.001 points to 0.042.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 42 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.12% or 1.45 to $1257.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.44% or 0.78 to hit $53.27 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 0.68 to trade at $55.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.0619, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8546.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 100.88.
