Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 1.14% or 0.1800 points to trade at 15.9900 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 0.54% or 0.0320 points to end at 5.9580 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was down 0.18% or 0.0020 points to 1.1280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.65% or 0.0200 points to trade at 0.7350 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.92% or 0.0320 points to end at 1.6330 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.63% or 0.2150 points to 12.9650.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 2.85% or 1.63 to $55.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.91% or 1.57 to hit $52.42 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.82% or 9.60 to trade at $1183.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.0565, while EUR/GBP rose 1.32% to 0.8688.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 101.99.
