Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.31% or 0.0370 points to trade at 1.6360 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 2.24% or 0.1290 points to end at 5.8780 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 2.24% or 0.0190 points to 0.8680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.34% or 0.0269 points to trade at 1.1226 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.00% or 0.2950 points to end at 14.4650 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 1.56% or 0.2200 points to 13.9000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 14 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.20% or 0.11 to $55.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.55% or 0.29 to hit $53.24 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.55 to trade at $1141.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0441, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.8412.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 102.77.
