SEOUL, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Korea Midland Power Co Ltd (KOMIPO) bought 80,000 tonnes of anthracite coal via a tender that closed on Aug. 5 for September shipping, a source from the utility said on Monday.
The utility purchased the coal product from Australia, the source added.
Korea Western Power Co Ltd (WP), another state-run utility, is seeking to buy 220,000 tonnes of steaming coal for shipping between October and November, the utility said on its website (https:www.iwest.co.kr/eng/).
The tender will close at 11 a.m. (0200 GMT) on Aug. 12.
