Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which rose 3.70% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.560 at the close. Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM) added 1.52% or 0.10 points to end at 6.67 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) was up 1.42% or 0.32 points to 22.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB), which lost 8.70% or 1.00 points to trade at 10.50 in late trade. Turk Hava Yollari (IS:THYAO) declined 4.77% or 0.380 points to end at 7.580 and Emlak Konut Gmyo (IS:EKGYO) shed 4.56% or 0.130 points to 2.720.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 289 to 67 and 55 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.25% or 3.10 to $1247.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.41% or 0.17 to hit $41.35 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.19 to trade at $41.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 2.8682, while EUR/TRY fell 0.03% to 3.2158.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.69.
