Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Insurance and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.35%, while the ADX General index added 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR), which rose 2.30% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.534 at the close. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) added 1.77% or 0.008 points to end at 0.460 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 1.43% or 0.010 points to 0.710 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which lost 6.90% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.08 in late trade. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) declined 3.80% or 0.140 points to end at 3.540 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) shed 3.02% or 0.016 points to 0.513.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which rose 6.67% to 0.9600, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was up 5.56% to settle at 0.380 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which gained 3.95% to close at 0.7900.
The worst performers were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 3.90% to 0.740 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which lost 3.03% to settle at 3.20 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 3.03% to 0.9600 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 rose and 12 declined, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.55% or 0.27 to $48.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.53% or 0.27 to hit $50.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.45 to trade at $1273.35 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.31% to 4.0220.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 98.55.
