Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Motors and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.14% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) added 13.33% or 0.200 points to end at 1.700 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) was up 12.50% or 0.200 points to 1.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which lost 12.70% or 8.00 points to trade at 55.00 in late trade. Mahaweli Reach Hotel PLC (CM:MRH) declined 11.74% or 2.70 points to end at 20.30 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) shed 11.59% or 113.00 points to 862.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 71 and 49 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.21% or 0.10 to $46.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.33% or 0.16 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.08% or 13.75 to trade at $1286.85 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.21% to 180.440, while USD/LKR fell 0.19% to 147.660.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 98.12.
