Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Retail, Banking and Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 7.28% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.162 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 4.67% or 0.280 points to end at 6.280 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was up 3.33% or 0.10 points to 3.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 10.00% or 0.0200 points to trade at 0.1800 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 5.64% or 0.011 points to end at 0.184 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) shed 4.07% or 0.75 points to 17.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 46 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.64% or 7.50 to $1176.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.71% or 0.36 to hit $51.42 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.30 to trade at $54.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.0675, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.8424.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 100.80.
