Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Telecoms and Trading sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO), which rose 24.66% or 237.00 points to trade at 1198.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) added 22.22% or 400.00 points to end at 2200.00 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) was up 21.15% or 4.80 points to 27.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 24.84% or 565.00 points to trade at 1710.00 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 18.37% or 10.80 points to end at 48.00 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was down 17.99% or 269.90 points to 1230.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 117 to 98 and 23 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.37% or 0.14 to $36.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.41% or 0.15 to hit $36.77 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1068.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.01% to 214.065, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 143.740.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.05.
