Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 2.69% or 0.118 points to trade at 4.503 at the close. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 1.98% or 1.28 points to end at 66.07 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 1.92% or 0.60 points to 31.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heineken (AS:HEIN), which lost 0.06% or 0.05 points to trade at 87.27 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 0.05% or 0.02 points to end at 38.41 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) shed 0.05% or 0.02 points to 40.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 37 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.96% to 10.31 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.74% or 0.34 to $45.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.90% or 0.43 to hit $48.29 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.58 to trade at $1271.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1199, while EUR/GBP rose 0.73% to 0.8798.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 97.24.
