Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 13.02% or 0.0220 points to trade at 0.1910 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 7.15% or 0.1080 points to end at 1.6180 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 2.12% or 0.0550 points to 2.6450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LS:YSO), which lost 2.03% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.6750 in late trade. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) declined 0.54% or 0.0060 points to end at 1.1130 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 0.18% or 0.0010 points to 0.5420.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.08% or 0.96 to $47.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.90% or 0.85 to hit $45.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.05% or 14.10 to trade at $1329.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1117, while EUR/GBP fell 1.24% to 0.8339.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 96.09.
