Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 2.52% or 0.360 points to trade at 14.670 at the close. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) added 2.22% or 0.205 points to end at 9.455 and A2A (MI:A2) was up 1.62% or 0.022 points to 1.377 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MI:SPMI), which lost 1.96% or 0.0084 points to trade at 0.4191 in late trade. Mediaset (MI:MS) declined 1.82% or 0.068 points to end at 3.678 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) shed 1.31% or 0.0460 points to 3.4540.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 193 to 156 and 15 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.03% or 0.53 to $52.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.73% or 0.40 to hit $55.29 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.08% or 13.55 to trade at $1266.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.0609, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8558.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 100.87.
