Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were NN Group NV (AS:NN), which rose 0.74% or 0.25 points to trade at 34.01 at the close. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) added 0.71% or 0.10 points to end at 13.54 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.53% or 0.400 points to 75.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 6.11% or 1.00 points to trade at 15.45 in late trade. Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) declined 0.83% or 0.41 points to end at 49.02 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 0.76% or 0.35 points to 46.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 50 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.89% to 12.54.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.38% or 0.18 to $47.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $52.02 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 5.07 to trade at $1297.07 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.1879, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.9222.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 92.67.
