Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Banking & Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.55% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Ferreyros (LM:FER), which rose 2.24% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.370 at the close. Meanwhile, Sider (LM:SID) added 1.09% or 0.002 points to end at 0.185 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was up 0.62% or 0.070 points to 11.330 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which fell 11.48% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.05 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 8.46% or 0.660 points to end at 7.140 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was down 3.21% or 0.90 points to 27.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 17 to 7 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Buenaventura (LM:BVN) fell to 3-years lows; losing 8.46% or 0.660 to 7.140.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $48.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.45 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1088.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.16% to 3.1905, while EUR/PEN rose 0.89% to 3.5054.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 97.28.
