Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Leasing & Factoring, Banking and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Arcelik (IS:ARCLK), which rose 7.80% or 1.19 points to trade at 16.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 4.55% or 0.010 points to end at 0.230 and Yapi Ve Kredi Bank. (IS:YKBNK) was up 3.85% or 0.140 points to 3.780 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO), which fell 4.14% or 0.86 points to trade at 19.92 at the close. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) declined 3.67% or 0.220 points to end at 5.780 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was down 2.90% or 0.52 points to 17.44.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 182 to 139 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.67% or 0.220 to 5.780.
Gold for April delivery was up 1.06% or 12.00 to $1139.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 6.76% or 2.02 to hit $31.90 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 6.54% or 2.14 to trade at $34.86 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.05% to 2.9212, while EUR/TRY rose 0.19% to 3.2300.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.30% at 97.58.
