Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 2.10% or 0.0450 points to trade at 2.1850 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 1.99% or 0.1860 points to end at 9.5170 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) was up 1.81% or 0.0045 points to 0.2535 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which fell 1.82% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0055 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) declined 1.79% or 0.2275 points to end at 12.5175 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was down 1.68% or 0.2175 points to 12.7025.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 37 to 29 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 5.81% or 2.77 to $50.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 6.30% or 2.68 to hit $45.24 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.91% or 10.20 to trade at $1132.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.1166, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.7263.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 96.27.
