Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acciona (MC:ANA), which rose 1.88% or 1.390 points to trade at 75.310 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 1.60% or 0.840 points to end at 53.300 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) was up 1.51% or 0.106 points to 7.104 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 2.51% or 0.260 points to trade at 10.105 in late trade. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) declined 1.89% or 0.082 points to end at 4.250 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) shed 1.57% or 0.320 points to 20.070.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 82 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.02% or 12.46 to $1210.84 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.50% or 1.14 to hit $44.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.52% or 1.21 to trade at $46.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1403, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 95.80.
