Investing.com - Voters in Greece have returned a government led by premier Alexis Tsipras who aims to be sworn in later on Monday following his Syriza party's win in Sunday's national elections.
Tsipras will visit the President of the Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos Monday and will not use the three-day period, allowed by the constitution, in order to form a government.
This indicates that Tsipras will not seek wider alliances with other parties beyond the Independent Greeks (ANEL) and will stick with a majority of five seats in the 300-seat parliament.
With 80% of the votes counted Syriza leads with 35.5%, New Democracy a distant second with 28.1%, the far right Golden Dawn party with 6.99%, the socialist alliance with 6.33%, communist KKE 5.52%, The River with 4.05%, Independent Greeks (ANEL) with 3.66% and Centrist Union with 3.36%.
