Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Electricity and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ), which rose 2.13% or 0.250 points to trade at 12.000 at the close. Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) added 1.52% or 0.080 points to end at 5.350 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 1.13% or 0.130 points to 11.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which unchanged 4.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.07 in late trade. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 3.70% or 0.010 points to end at 0.260 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) shed 2.86% or 0.500 points to 17.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.08% or 1.45 to $45.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $48.35 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.57% or 6.91 to trade at $1226.11 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2575, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6995.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 95.97.
