Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Halk Gmyo (IS:HLGYO), which rose 3.19% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.970 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 3.03% or 0.010 points to end at 0.340 and Tupras (IS:TUPRS) was up 2.59% or 2.05 points to 81.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which lost 3.41% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.850 in late trade. Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) declined 3.34% or 0.140 points to end at 4.050 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) shed 2.87% or 0.060 points to 2.030.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 269 to 87 and 51 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.22% or 2.60 to $1187.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.25% or 0.67 to hit $53.11 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 0.83 to trade at $55.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.35% to 3.8619, while EUR/TRY rose 0.47% to 4.1342.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 100.51.
