Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Chemicals and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which rose 4.10% or 1.04 points to trade at 26.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediolanum (MILAN:MED) added 3.33% or 0.260 points to end at 8.065 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) was up 3.17% or 2.60 points to 84.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which fell 1.45% or 0.0250 points to trade at 1.6970 at the close. Prysmian (MILAN:PRY) declined 0.55% or 0.11 points to end at 19.80 and STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) was down 0.55% or 0.040 points to 7.170.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 370 to 89 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.34% or 0.18 to $52.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $58.97 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.16% or 1.90 to trade at $1156.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.15% to 1.1030, while EUR/GBP fell 1.11% to 0.7109.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 96.78.
