The stage has been set for Apple’s annual flagship event tomorrow, dubbed the ‘Far out’ launch, which is going to be hosted in-person after a two-year COVID hiatus.

There is no doubt that the company’s iPhone 14 line, which will be receiving a new facelift, is going to be the star of the show.

However, the launch will also include the new Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Watch Series 8, AirPods Pro 2 and an iPad lineup.

“Precarious time”

According to Bloomberg: “Apple is updating its flagship product at a precarious time for the industry.”

“Smartphone sales have begun to flag as consumers cope with inflation and a shaky economy.

“But Apple appears to be faring better than its peers: The iPhone sold well last quarter and the company has signalled to suppliers that it doesn’t foresee a drop off in demand.”

What is new on the iPhone?

Apple is phasing out the iPhone mini in favour of a new model as the company is focusing on larger devices

The regular iPhone 14 models will get some camera hardware changes but the most significant upgrades will be reserved for the Pro line — expected to be the headliner of the event.

Leading the pack, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will sport a significantly larger camera area on the back of the new 48-megapixel wide-angle system and improved telephoto and ultrawide-angle sensors.

While the non-pro variants are expected to be powered by the A15 Bionic chipset, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max will feature the A16 chipset.

Furthermore, there are also rumours about satellite connectivity and the absence of sim card slots on the new phones, which may be confirmed after the launch tomorrow.

New watches

Apple is expected to reveal the Watch Series 8 with a new design, large battery and larger screen, amongst other features.

The most highlighted update of the watch will be a new body-temperature sensor and women’s health features related to fertility.

What's more, two more watches on the cards won’t be significant overhauls.

A new Apple Watch SE is coming that will look like the current model from 2020 but see its chip upgraded from the S5 to an S8.
