Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Services, Banking and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.22% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index climbed 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which rose 5.51% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.268 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 3.14% or 0.060 points to end at 1.970 and Emaar Development PJSC (DU:EMAARDEV) was up 1.94% or 0.100 points to 5.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which lost 3.33% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.740 in late trade. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) declined 2.06% or 0.019 points to end at 0.904 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) shed 1.95% or 0.013 points to 0.653.
The top performers on the ADX General were International Holding Company PJSC (AD:IHC) which rose 12.50% to 1.26, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 9.43% to settle at 0.5800 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which gained 3.77% to close at 0.550.
The worst performers were Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was down 5.68% to 4.65 in late trade, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which lost 5.15% to settle at 0.920 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 3.28% to 0.5900 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 rose and 8 declined, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.03% or 0.69 to $67.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.06% or 0.77 to hit $73.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1201.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.03% to 4.1887.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 96.19.
