Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Transport and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.07% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index climbed 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which rose 9.43% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.16 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 2.31% or 0.040 points to end at 1.770 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) was up 1.01% or 0.070 points to 6.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which lost 3.10% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.500 in late trade. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 1.86% or 0.016 points to end at 0.844 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) shed 1.79% or 0.020 points to 1.100.
The top performers on the ADX General were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which rose 11.79% to 4.740, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was up 4.78% to settle at 2.850 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 3.99% to close at 6.25.
The worst performers were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which was down 7.41% to 2.50 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 5.41% to settle at 1.75 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 1.89% to 2.080 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 10 declined, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.96% or 0.47 to $48.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.75% or 0.38 to hit $50.51 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.35 to trade at $1311.35 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.36% to 4.1031.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 96.11.
