Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Sunday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 1.05%, while the ADX General index lost 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 2.62% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.960 at the close. Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) added 0.48% or 0.010 points to end at 2.080 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was up 0.21% or 0.002 points to 0.954 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which lost 5.61% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.471 in late trade. Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) declined 3.14% or 0.070 points to end at 2.160 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) shed 2.90% or 0.020 points to 0.670.
The top performers on the ADX General were Foodco Holding PJSC (AD:FOOD) which rose 6.32% to 3.70, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was up 3.96% to settle at 4.99 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which gained 0.52% to close at 1.940.
The worst performers were Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 8.98% to 1.520 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which lost 5.36% to settle at 0.530 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 5.00% to 1.140 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 9 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 18 fell and 5 advanced, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.45% or 0.97 to $67.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.25% or 0.90 to hit $72.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1219.20 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 1.04% to 4.1907.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.76% at 96.19.
