Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrial Transportation, Tobacco and Mobile Telecommunications sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were DCC plc (LON:DCC), which rose 2.87% or 200.0 points to trade at 7165.0 at the close. RSA Insurance Group PLC (LON:RSA) added 2.78% or 16.00 points to end at 591.00 and Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY) was up 1.74% or 35.00 points to 2050.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Royal Mail PLC (LON:RMG), which lost 17.96% or 85.70 points to trade at 391.40 in late trade. EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) declined 7.00% or 92.00 points to end at 1222.00 and The Berkeley Group Holdings plc (LON:BKGH) shed 3.37% or 124.00 points to 3555.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1122 to 918 and 342 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 3.30 to $1192.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.90% or 1.39 to hit $74.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.54 to trade at $84.27 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.02% to 1.3033, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8877.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.97.
