Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs, Real Estate and Automobiles & Parts sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA), which rose 12.92% or 94.40 points to trade at 825.00 at the close. Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) added 6.50% or 23.40 points to end at 383.50 and Frasers Group PLC (LON:FRAS) was up 6.06% or 50.00 points to 875.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sage Group PLC (LON:SGE), which lost 4.20% or 44.50 points to trade at 1,015.50 in late trade. Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:CCH) declined 3.44% or 94.00 points to end at 2,640.00 and Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) shed 2.86% or 65.00 points to 2,205.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1084 to 755 and 669 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.20 to $2,363.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.26% or 1.00 to hit $78.23 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.15% or 0.96 to trade at $82.47 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.27, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 104.64.
