Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mobile Telecommunications, Electrical and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO), which rose 8.13% or 27.80 points to trade at 369.80 at the close. Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) added 4.72% or 3.30 points to end at 73.28 and Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) was up 3.60% or 17.10 points to 492.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL), which lost 3.23% or 87.50 points to trade at 2,619.50 in late trade. DCC plc (LON:DCC) declined 2.29% or 135.00 points to end at 5,770.00 and Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) shed 1.95% or 315.00 points to 15,875.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1074 to 733 and 704 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.41% or 9.70 to $2,352.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.63% or 1.29 to hit $77.83 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.39% or 1.16 to trade at $82.20 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.26, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 104.94.
